It's Back to School time!

Let me set the scene…

You see a young girl in the school supplies aisle. She’s meticulously picking out notebooks and pencils for the new year. She stares at the binders contemplating which ones match perfectly with the notebooks. She continues down the aisles noting all of the options before making her decisions. At this moment, these decisions seem… massive.

As a kid, I loved school supply shopping. I was always so excited to find the PERFECT supplies. In my small town, there weren’t always a ton of options, but my family made sure I had everything I needed. However, when I went to college, I learned school shopping was on me. Don’t worry, my quest for the perfect supplies never stopped.

College school shopping opened my eyes to a lot of things, including the importance of a planner. I went to Target and grabbed the first planner I saw. I started with a beautiful black stripe Day Designer Daily. As I went through college, I ended up switching to my current system: the Erin Condren planner. These planners have followed me through the tail end of undergrad and grad school. I fell in love and haven’t looked back. I became an Erin Condren Affiliate back in 2020. I’ve grown to love this company and the products that they put out. As I’ve grown through my journey, I’ve been privileged to get a couple of boxes sent my way. They have been generously sent to me in exchange for me sharing my comments and reviews.

I’ve been sent the Back to School collection for 2022. As I’ve looked through this collection, I’ve been absolutely blown away by the calm, beautiful colors. These neutral pastels have absolutely stolen my heart. Blush has been one of my favorite colors for a while, so this Academic Planner was a welcomed surprise.

The Academic Planner is geared towards students (as the name suggests). However, with a little adjusting, anyone can learn to use this layout and love it! The “In Bloom” interior design is absolutely perfect for those who are obsessed with hand drawn florals with neutral toned touches. The Academic Planners have a start option of August 2022-July 2023. There are four interior design options, two sizes and two binding options. If you have any questions about this planner, feel free to email me! This planner is the EC planner that I started with.

The newest edition to the Erin Condren line is this stunning “Daily Routines and Rituals” A5 guided journal. I can’t help but love this beautiful colorful metallic striped cover. Luckily for me, these colorful stripes are carried throughout the journal as a charming theme. I’d love to see Erin Condren use these types of designs more and more! (If you’re reading this EC team, we love the watercolor stripes. cool?)

I’ve started glancing through the pages, and I can’t help but feel inspired. This book breaks down your big goals for routines into very bite size chunks. The book is 3 months and it is broken up into weekly and daily views. I can’t wait to dive into it more and see how it fits into my daily planner routines.

Another new addition to the Erin Condren site is the Family Organizer! This book features monthly pages, recurring schedule pages, goal setting pages, school/extracurricular pages and notes pages. The Family Organizer is great whether you have children or not. With a few adjustments, this planner can be adjusted for almost any lifestyle. I am so excited to get this planner set up for my husband and I. We are thinking about ways this will fit into our routines. We are so excited to see how this planner helps us in our season.

The EC made sure to include some perfect Back to School accessories in my box. I was so excited to see the In Bloom Planner Folio. This product is for those with 7x9 notebooks or planners. The blush cover and neutral florals immediately stole my heart. I think this folio can easily work for someone who is in college who needs a way to protect their planner in a backpack. It also works well for someone who is maybe heading back into the office for the first time in a while. The folios are pretty durable. I’ve had the camel colored folio for a while and I LOVE it. I have pictured some other accessories I was sent. I've been getting them into my routine already, so I can't even begin to describe how useful they've already been in my journey!

The fineliner pens are also a favorite of mine out of this box. They have a .4 tip. There are 10 pens in the pack, and I will DEFINITELY be picking more up in my next EC order. They write absolutely beautifully.

This entire box was such a joy to unpack and review. I can't wait to see what else the EC team has up their sleeves this fall!

What are you looking forward to about this new season? Anyone else excited for fall? I'm ridiculously ready for College Football Saturdays and English Premier League Sundays! (Gig Em Aggies and Come on You Irons!)

Feel free to let me know your favorite items from this collection in the comments, as well as your go to sports team! ;)

Routines. Routines. Routines.

I am a creature of habit. I love habits and routines. I know that probably sounds crazy to most people, but it's just who I am. Monday mornings, I typically sit and drink my coffee in the same spot most mornings. I spend most of my time (outside of work) with the same 3 people. I believe in deep friendships and quality time. I believe in intentionality and in real life relationships with people. However, if I get too caught in a routine, sometimes I need a break and I need spontaneous adventure. This summer has taught me that I really don't need a lot of spontaneous adventure though. The season I'm in right now needs consistency and calm.  Routine has almost become a buzz word in the planner community. Everyone's plan with me's on youtube seemed to include a spot for their AM Routine and their PM Routine. Am I wrong? I sat for so long thinking that I was less than, because we didn't have intense, down to the minute elaborate morning and evening routines. So I s...

Structure your month with me

I know August basically just started, but I'm already looking ahead to big picture things for September! Around halfway through the month, I start taking a look and preplanning the month ahead. Since I now have this blog (and my YouTube), I figured I'd take y'all along for the journey and through my process.  So the first thing I start with is goal setting. Over the past year, I've been really honing in on my goals. I've been setting goals that feel appropriate to my season. I use the MakseLife system for this purpose. My digital goals planner has been an absolute game changer within my planner lineup. As I sit down to plan, the initial step is reviewing my annual goals. I look into whether they still feel realistic, whether they feel reasonable, or if they need some adjusting (or even just cutting certain things). One of my biggest goals for this year was to run a half marathon in December. Honestly, I don't think it's going to happen at this point. It brea...

A Sunday in our home

Sunday Reset.  I’ve seen so many videos about people’s Sunday reset routines. I figured it would be a great time to talk about mine. I don’t think Sunday needs to be a complicated day of the week. Sunday should be a time to get ready for the week ahead, but also a day to enjoy the moment and take care of yourself. It’s a balancing act. Our Sunday routine covers 5 big routines within our Sunday routine. Don’t let this intimidate you. Sunday routines help us mitigate any effects of the “Sunday scaries.” Let’s chat through what a Sunday in the Lee household looks like!  I’m sure you wouldn’t be surprised that planning is at the top of our list for our Sunday routines. My husband and I make it a big priority on Sundays to sit down and just think through the week. Most of the time, my planner is already filled out, but this is a chance for us to update each other on what’s going on in our lives. We use a template created by Lauren (@planwithlaur on instagram). We love this t...
